Choose a reference for your method.
HES is a modified starch polymer. Molecular weight characterization helps laboratories understand and compare its polymer profile. These reference materials can be evaluated for the following applications, subject to method-specific qualification.
SEC / GPC workflows
Evaluate material suitability for aqueous size-exclusion or gel-permeation chromatography methods.
Polymer comparisons
Support comparative studies of hydroxyethyl starch molecular weight characteristics.
Qualified reference use
Assess use as a working reference or performance-monitoring material within your qualified analytical procedure.

Before you select a standard.
Are these materials a ready-to-use SEC calibration kit?
The six products are offered as individual reference materials. Calibration suitability depends on the material’s molecular weight distribution, value assignment and your procedure. A calibration curve should not be constructed from catalogue molecular weights alone; request the supporting technical information and qualify the approach for your method.
How do I choose the appropriate molecular weight?
Consider the expected molecular weight range of your samples, your analytical method and the intended use of the reference. Share these requirements with our team and review the current lot documentation before selecting a product.
Does molecular weight specify the degree of substitution?
No. Molecular weight and the degree of hydroxyethyl substitution are distinct characteristics. The catalogue molecular weights on this page do not establish a substitution grade such as HES 130/0.4.
Are these pharmacopoeial or certified reference materials?
This page does not designate the products as USP, EP or IP reference standards, or as certified reference materials. If your procedure requires a particular compendial status, traceability or uncertainty statement, request confirmation before ordering.
